“LUCKY”

Lucky is a wonderful dog to own. She has the best disposition. She loves to lay down and roll over for a tummy run. She has tremendous bone substance. And has the “X Factor” in the show ring. She won her biggest awards under international judges. Three Best Of Breed wins under three separate Irish Judges. Maybe she has a little “Luck of the Irish going for her”

Lucky had a beautiful litter of puppies a year ago. We have kept a boy and a girl for future breeding

There just wasn’t enough puppies to go around. Everyone that came to see the puppies wanted a Lucky puppy. They were that impressed with her.

My girl Molly had a litter of ten but there was one little puppy that struggled to live. I named him “Grasshopper” after the young boy in the movie Karate King that defied the odds and made it. I hoped the courage this puppy showed everyday to live would keep him alive

Soon his litter mates got bigger and bigger and played rougher and rougher as puppies do. But Grasshopper did not grow. He remained skeletal looking and very tiny PICTURE OF GRASSHOPPER
I soon had to separate him from his litter mates. He just couldn’t take the playing/rough housing they were handing out. Now Grasshopper was alone, skinny and struggling everyday to make it though alive.

A change of diet seemed to help. But he was lonely and needed someone to play with. Lucky befriended Grasshopper and everyday spent hours playing and sleeping with him

It was a miracle. The food was helping and everyday he became stronger. As you can see from the picture of Lucky and Grasshopper- she is very large and could have simply steped on him and killed him by mistake. She is a very big girl and yes she took care of Grasshopper and was never too rough. They spent their days together.

Grasshopper went on the be perfectly normal is size and no one not even the vet could ever say what was wrong with him. He now lives with a couple from Canada could not have children and wanted a puppy to become their child. They take him everywhere they go, sleep with him, and love him a whole lot. It was a perfect match.

This couple was on the waiting list and showed up to view a new litter of pups. After a long talk over coffee I asked the couple were they interested in a little older dog- six months. They didn’t think so but wanted to see this pup. I showed them Grasshopper and the first moment they looked at him they knew they had to have him. Picture of Grasshopper w new couple

Lucky was sad to see Grasshopper go. But she soon adopted others to play with and nuture. She’s that kind of girl

Lucky has been mated to Grand Champion Poplar Forest Play It Again Sam MH, XCD, RA xxxxxxxxx

This should be a good match for Lucky. Sam is an intelligent dog that has mastered both the showring and hunt/trail world. Not many dogs in the world are both a Grand Champion and Master Hunter.
Congradulations to Sam on his titles and we look forward to the pups this match will produce
